Design Features:

Inspection Door

The Martin® Inspection Door is dust-tight and allows inspection and access in chutes and other enclosures for belt cleaner maintenance or other service requirements.

Features and Benefits:

  • Latch handle folds down, so door stands only 2.25 inches (57 mm) high. (With handle standing, door is 4.1 inches (104 mm) high).
  • Also available with integral guard screen.
  • Suitable for service temperatures up to 400°F (204° C) continuous or 450° F (232° C) intermittent.
  • Sturdy, dust-tight steel design.

Conveyor Guards

The Martin® Conveyor Guards improve worker safety. The mesh panel guards conform to OSHA/MSHA standards and prevent worker exposure to conveyor nip points and pinch point hazards.

Features and Benefits:

  • Mesh guards allow for inspection while keeping workers safely away from moving parts and pinch points.
  • Conforms to OSHA 29 CFR 1910.217 when installed with a minimum of 5.50 in. between guard opening and hazard.
  • Wedge clamps allow panels to be removed and reinstalled quickly.
  • Rugged modular design installs on supplied angle iron structure and does not need to attach to conveyor equipment.


  • Guards are available in several sizes and can be used in a variety of combinations to fit almost any application. Systems can be easily expanded or relocated as needed.

Idler Aligner

The Martin® Idler Aligner provides a safe and effective method to manually fine tune self-adjusting idlers. The handle and comb allow for coarse adjustment, while slots allow for finer tuning.

Features and Benefits:

  • Eliminates the need to tie off idlers to surrounding structure. Allows workers to safely and conveniently make manual adjustments to fine tune self-adjusting idlers from outside of the stringer.
  • Features a hole for padlock placement to restrict access.
  • Slotted comb provides a range of incremental adjustment settings (plus or minus 7.5 degrees) to ensure reliable, consistent performance. Alternatively, positioning the handle above the locking bar allows the handle to float freely to provide course adjustment of plus or minus 2.5 degrees.
  • Installation is a one-man job, requiring no measuring, cutting or heavy lifting.

Conveyor Belt Misalignment Switches

Belt Misalignment Switches are used in conveyor monitoring the belt travel. When mounted at the running edges of a conveyor belt, the switches will be operated if the belt deviates from its designed running line by more than the permissible distance.

VG Switch:

This Kiepe misalignment switch is designed for operation on conveyors with belt speeds up to 300 fpm. At 12 degrees from vertical, the VG switch will go into pre-alarm. At 45 degrees cutout will occur and it will be latched. The switch is reset by hand after being latched. There are different contacts (N.O. - Normally Open, N.C.-Normally Closed) available for pre-alarm and final cutout.


MRS Switch:

Constructed of fiber reinforced plastic and stainless steel. These Kiepe belt misalignment switches are resistant to ammonia and can operate under extreme and harsh environments such as salt mines, composting, recycling plants as well as ocean port areas with high salt air content. Standard features include two self-cleaning switching elements. Switching points at 10 degrees and 25 degrees.


HES Switch:

All external parts are either stainless steel or specialty plated. This unit is designed for operation in severe conditions. The actuating roller is 1.77 inches and mounted on stainless steel bearings for years of serviceability at high belt speeds. Both contacts have adjustable switching point angles. These switches can be used with belts traveling up to 900 fpm.


SES Switch:

Available in two styles. Type 001-004: Cast iron Housing ideally suited for mining or corrosive conditions. All external parts are either stainless steel or specially plated. 1.77 inch roller. These switches have a 15 degree pre-alarm with final cutout and latch at 45 degrees. Best suited for belts traveling up to 900 fpm.

Type 102 and 105 (shown): Cast iron housing with the same features as the type 001-004 units with the exception of an oversized roller of stainless steel. The roller of 4.25 inches diameter is ideally suited for belts traveling in excess of 900 fpm. This unit also includes two N.O. and two N.C. contacts.

LRS 004 Single Pull Safety Switch

The Kiepe Elektrik Single Pull Safety Switch is activated by pulling a plastic coated steel cable or pressing the red stop button. This action will trip and automatically lock the switches, de-energizing the conveyor. After tripping, the blue knob resets the switch.

Dual Pull Safety Switches

The Kiepe Elektrik Dual Pull Safety Switches provide a switching system to isolate the power to conveyor systems and other process equipment in the event of an emergency. Pulling the cable operates the actuating lever, which trips the internal cam to the off position. Resetting the switch can only be achieved by means of the reset lever.

Conveyor Belt Speed Monitoring Switches


SWE Unit:

The SWE units provide monitoring of under speed, over speed and the stoppage of the shaft. Selection among the 4 different models is based on the range of Set Points. These adjustable Set Points make it possible to establish absolute acceptable under speed and over speed operation of equipment for safety and equipment protection. If the RPM exceeds the Set Point, a relay is energized. There is also a startup delay from 0.5 to 15 seconds to allow time for the conveyor to get moving on initial startup. SWE units are provided with mounting brackets. Coupling options available.

SW Unit:

These units detect direction of rotation and stoppage. They have two contacts. One closes when it is rotating clockwise and the other closes when it is rotating counterclockwise. Selection among the 5 different models is based on RPM's required with each switch providing two different RPM's. Selecting a falling RPM determines the speed at which the switch will disengage while selecting a rising RPM determines the speed at which the switch will engage. SW units are provided with mounting brackets. Coupling options available.

Belt Driven Speed Monitors:

These units track the belt travel directly off the belt eliminating the necessity to connect a monitor to a pulley. Available as type SWB or SWEB.


Electronic Speed Monitoring:

Advanced micro-processor for monitoring either belt speed or belt slip. Minimum and maximum monitoring of belt speed allows both high and low speed alarms. All data is displayed on an LCD panel for easy calibration and viewing of information.
